Nearly half of suburban families are thinking of leaving New York State, according to a stunning, just-released survey. The cost of living here is simply intolerable.
More than 1.4 million New Yorkers have left the state since 2010, yet our leaders in Albany continue to tax and spend at the highest rates in the nation. That’s unconscionable. New York has a government more than twice the size of Florida’s, and Florida has three million more people!
When you add in fiascos like State Senator Pete Harckham’s Congestion Pricing Tax, which wasted $507 million in tax dollars — more than half a billion dollars — on equipment that may never be used, it’s no wonder that New Yorkers have had it.
We work hard for our money, and watching Albany waste our tax dollars year-after-year is demoralizing, to say the least.
I’m not going anywhere. I’m going to stay and fight for my neighbors if it’s the last thing I do. New Yorkers deserve better than what they’re getting now.
